Common Questions and Answers
Some things often asked by new clients
What is a typical day like for a resident in your home?
Residents enjoy a structured but comfortable daily routine that includes home-cooked meals, snacks, medication assistance, activities, rest time, and social connection. Breakfast is served around 8:30 AM, lunch at 1:30 PM, and dinner at 6:30 PM.
Activities may include light exercise, gardening, music, games, crafts, family-style meal prep, walks, and seasonal celebrations. Quiet hours begin at 9:00 PM to support restful sleep and a peaceful environment.
We encourage family involvement whenever possible because we believe connection is an important part of care.
What type of care and services do you provide?
As a Class 2 Adult Foster Home, we provide assistance with daily living activities such as medication management, bathing, dressing, mobility support, meal preparation, housekeeping, laundry, transportation coordination, and social engagement.
We also create individualized care plans based on each resident’s needs, preferences, and physician recommendations to ensure comfort, safety, and quality of life.
What is the process for becoming a resident in our home?
The process begins with an initial conversation where we learn more about the potential resident’s care needs, medical history, daily routines, preferences, and personality. This helps us determine if our home is the right fit for them.
After that, we schedule an in-person visit or tour of the home so the resident and family can meet us, see the environment, and ask questions.
If both sides feel comfortable moving forward, we review the care assessment, service plan, residency agreement, house policies, and financial arrangements. Once everything is completed and approved, we coordinate a smooth move-in date and transition plan.
Our goal is to make the process simple, respectful, and stress-free for both the resident and their family.
How long does the admission process usually take?
The timeline depends on the resident’s needs, paperwork completion, and care assessment approvals. In some situations, move-in can happen within a few days, while in other cases it may take one to two weeks or longer.
We do our best to move efficiently while making sure everything is done properly, safely, and according to state requirements.
We understand that families often need support quickly, and we try to make the process as smooth and timely as possible.
